I’ve been asked recently of what do I think about meditation, chakras, and a third eye. The person who asked me this question told me that he’ve read a lot about this subject in the books, but he isn’t quite convinced.
To be able to answer this question, I should first give definition to each of this 3 concepts. Here we’ve got a) meditation, b) chakras, and c) a third eye.
Mediation is a process, it is when you are trying to get past the “thinking” mind, and reach a deeper state of relaxation and awareness through different techniques to achieve the state of “enlightenment" which is considered to be the ultimate goal of yoga.
A chakra is an energy center in the human body according to the Indian religion. A third eye is a mystical concept of some invisible eye, usually depicted on the forehead, which provides perception beyond original sight. In the Indian tradition third eye corresponds to a brow chakra.
This tradition and believes go back thousands of years ago. Since thousands of years humanity was looking for something beyond the ordinary life, some panacea, or cure, or the way to escape dull, boring, and grey reality they were facing. It is very scary and frustrating to accept that life is chaotic, that sometimes accidents, disasters, and death happen because they just happen, because this is how the process of life is.
So, to reduce this tremendous burden the concept of enlightenment was invented in India. Enlightenment is the highest state of consciousness, it’s the state where a human being doesn’t feel pain or suffering, just pure bliss. And some techniques were invented to help people reach this state. Meditation was one of them.( Collapse )
